The stewards of Poplar Forest, “Jefferson’s summer home”, have long recognized the need for a safe, attractive, protected approach to the house, and have worked tirelessly for years to acquire the property necessary to achieve that objective.  The conceptual planning process for the new parkway, entrance, and associated network of trails began last year with the goals of:

1.  Engaging the community by offering reasons to return;
2.  Expanding visitors’ understanding of Jefferson; and
3.  Stewarding the property’s historic, cultural and natural resources.

Rieley & Associates recently presented the final Conceptual Plan to The Corporation for Jefferson’s Poplar Forest, and is now in the design development phase.
